After Christmas

Spent a lot of time with my son on Christmas. I really liked that, what with being as busy as I usually am we just don't get the quantity of time I'd like to see, so we go for quality. Yesterday we had fun, checking out his new toys and watching a couple of movies. Having a little break from school, I haven't even looked at any school work for several days. Today though, I have to start back again with a couple of papers. Will be back later if I have anything actually interesting to write. Oh btw, I am tired of hearing about Brad and Angelina; Britney & K-Fed, lets throw Tom & Katie in there too! Must they live their private lives out for the front page? I can understand some news, because they are celebrities, but come on. It gets to be too much. Lets hear more about Kate Winslet, she's at the top of my most favorite list.

Merry Christmas

Happy holidays to everyone. Things seem to be going okay right now, hope they stay that way. School is proceeding according to schedule and everyone around me seems to be happy. Have been busy between work, home and school, but managing to keep it all going in the right direction. Christmas is my favorite holiday, I just love it, always have. Now I am happy to see my son get excited about Christmas morning, to me that is everything. Watching him open presents and be surprised and having my family together. Getting older has made that aspect most important of all. Well, hope everyone has a nice holiday.

Seasonal Shopping

I absolutely love shopping on the internet, Amazon is IT in my book. I never liked dealing with the crowds this time of year and I tend to leave nearly all of my shopping until the last minute. Amazon saves me from all this, I am willing to pay a bit more to be rescued from the pawing crowds at local stores. I had to make my way to the Mall of all places for one last item. Dread crept up on me as I drew closer to arriving, fortunately I brought my 9 year old with me. I used him to run interference as I beat my way through. A very solid thank you to the sales lady at JC Penney's who very politely told all the line cutters to get behind me. She helped make this experience as painless as possible. Each year I find more of my shopping is done over the internet, next year perhaps I will complete it all that way.

Catching Up

Having gone on a business trip for the first part of last week put me behind on school work. Yesterday I made up a lot of lost time from that trip. Prepared a power point presentation on my current career, a career interest and the value of a college education. It came together well. Had time to watch TV last night, watched Shallow Ground, decent film, had the thrill of the murdered dead revenging their wrongs on others. Mindless entertainment when I could have been working on something more worthwhile.

Terrorists

Something just reminded me of a thought. A quote from Jeremiah Johnson, "They will split us from crotch to eyeball with a dull deer antler." Osama, I hope you meet your deer antler.

Snow Day!!

It's been snowing off and on all day. I just love the snow, until I have to go dig out the cars or something. It reminds me of a cleansing of the sky, making everything pure again.

School

My return to school has been challenging, but exciting also. It has been such a long time I had forgotten all about it. I am having a wonderful time and it's great working on all the projects and papers. It is already having a direct impact on improvement at work for me. So, for anyone that never finished advanced education or never started it, I say go for it. It brings nothing but benefits to your life.

My new soap box

Ok, I was tired of using my other blog as a box to stand on. That was never it's purpose, so here is the big box. I can stand here and say everything I can't say on the other one. You should have the correct forum to speak from, don't you think? Anyway, here is where you will find my thoughts and journal activities from my life and my head.
